This is just a quick note to inform everyone that InstantAction will be experiencing some scheduled downtime tomorrow morning from 9 AM PST to 10 AM PST. We'll keep you updated if the downtime goes longer than expected.
Some active forum community members are tired of seeing that the last date for having the most people on the forums at any given time was from May of 2008. To combat this they've decided to get as many people as they can to log into the forums tomorrow, October 24th, so that this measly number of 269 can be squashed forever. If you want to join up they're all logging in at 5pm Eastern Time, you can see your time zone by visiting the thread talking about all the details.
While your at it you may as well jump on InstantAction and see if we can crash the servers. I'm just kidding obviously, that would be bad. But you might as well jump in and play a game or two while you are here.
A month ago we hid some 'ghost head' avatar codes throughout the nets. We have another 5 promo codes scattered on Facebook, Twitter, the blog, and one other secret place.
Once found, these codes can be entered in the 'promo codes' area within your InstantAction profile.
We've got several tournaments going on right now on InstantAction (rather, sign ups are happening now) so if one of these interests you, go ahead and click the link.
Standard Deathmatch with a 10 minute time limit and 50 kill score limit. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Broken up into Eu, NA, and Australia. Sign up deadline: October 15th.
This is still up in the air but if there are at least 7 people that are interested before October 10th, it could be a reality. The noob part of tourney just means that it's a very relaxed tournament for fun. If you are interested, click the link above and sign up.
In this competition it will be required to do multiple shots in 1 video. You'll be given a task, earn point on your video and winners will be determined. Prizes are still TBD. Check it out!
- Rounds will be divided by american/euro/aussie hosts in the first rounds to avoid timezone complications.
- Rounds will be 10 minutes with a score limit of 50
- Brackets will be chosen randomly at random.org.
- 1st place will win 1000 tokens, followed by 500 for 2nd, and 250 for 3rd.
For the full list of rules head on over to the forum post.
So far there have been 17 people who have signed up. If you think you can compete, head on over and sign up with your username and your timezone. Deadline for signups is October 15th.
Resident artist Chris Flanagan has just given us this Legions wallpaper that he's whipped up. Thought I'd share it with everyone so they can add it to their already large collection of desktop backgrounds.
The following is an insanely long 5 point shot in Rokkitball from h2oDragon. How did he do that? Seriously...how? Feel free to leave links in the comments section to some of your longest shots.
We know you love avatars and if you have a soul, you enjoy scavenger hunts. So why not bring the two together? We have 8 hidden Legions "Ghost Head" avatars scattered across the nets. Look for the promo codes on the forums, Twitter account, and Facebook fan pages.
They'll be harder to find than little Timmy's eggs.
The results for all the lucky PAX ticket winners are in. Congratulations to all the lucky people who will be attending PAX. Don't forget to stop by the InstantAction booth to say hi and collect some sweet swag.
