Four-way Action in Galcon

The interns over in New York are extremely busy...as you can see in this video.  Just kidding of course, I'm sure this was done on their lunch break.  Either way, enjoy some four player action in a friendly game of GalCon!  Then get in there and play a game of your own.

Now I'm tempted to join one of their games to show 'em what's up.  I think I could take them...

The Awesome that is Galcon

Galcon is now available to the public through InstantAction and as extremely addictive as ever.  "Galcon is an awesome high-paced multi-player galactic action-strategy game. You send swarms of ships from planet to planet to take over the galaxy."

You've got the choice on how dedicated you want to become.  Firstly, you can drop a measly 10 tokens to play the game, it's like an arcade payment system.  Secondly, once you get hooked you can rent the game for a month or a year at 500 ActionTokens and 1400 ActionTokens respectively.

With more game modes coming soon, it's gonna be awesome.  Get in there so you can destroy me in multiplayer.

On Galcon: An Essay In Two Parts

Burnsdare
Spacemen are bad to the bone, let no one tell you otherwise!

The guys here at the NYC office have fallen in love with a little game called Galcon. For those of you who haven't been graced by the almighty, holy light that bleeds through your screen when the game is being played... I'm truly sorry.

Get on that, like ASAP.

We've started ending every day (and beginning most) with at least one game. I'm pretty sure the boys from Bryn Mawr missed their train home one day because we couldn't stop playing. Who knew that triangles flying through space to fill colored circles could be so addictive?

"Not I," said the pig.

We just got a ton of new interns today and we're trying to break them in with a few 4v4 bouts (we've never played more than 3v3 before today). Sadly, I wasn't able to play (and it doesn't look like I'll be able to play at the end of the day either) because I'm currently using Ben's (djbmel1212) MacBook Pro. Oh well, I'll be working from home for the rest of the week anyways (the office is so crowded with all the new guys, it's insane).

Anyway, back to the glory that are colored triangles.
It's not the easiest game to pick up right away (unless you're amazing at games like Risk [by the way, another awesome game to play when your internet is down]), but once you start getting the hang of managing multiple planets... it's just pure bliss. Every time we're getting hit hard there are cheers and jeers, and every time someone is going down fast there are yells of "guys, send me some guys now!"

I'm really not sure how our co-workers put up with all the noise we make.

I swear, if this keeps up we're going to start skipping meals in favor of ruling outerspace.
Who needs food anyway?
